There's a certain black cat sleeping on the counter of the kitchen. Why? Because it's summer and it's hot and even if Crowley likes hot places he also likes to sleep properly and doesn't mind changing forms for that.

Even if certain forms can cause misunderstandings.

And the kitty got a pat on the head for its concern. But he didn't say anything else, only reached over and finally cracked his bottle open, taking a long drink.

Then he sighed. "So much for moving on, huh?"

"Mmrrrrmmow." That's not fair, talk more damn it. He wants to know your secrets. But he figured that it was because of the subject of the book. The kitty sprawled himself all over Corinthian's lap.

With a small half grin he pet the cat again, and after a moment he set the bottle aside to grab the furry little creature,

"....you know, you could've had a sister," he mused, more to himself than to the cat. Of course Maddie wouldn't be able to understand him, but that was probably what kept him talking at her every once in a while. "Had the circumstances been different, at least. Not sure you'd like Nightmare as much, though."

There was a brief moment of panic where Crowley thought that Corinthain recognized him, but it was gone in seconds. He kept talking, so he clearly didn't notice anything wrong with the black cat.

A movement of the tail was his way to show the man he was listening.
